There is something incredibly rewarding about watching months of planning, construction, and hard work transform into a place that people are proud to call home.
Since the beginning of July, we have had the pleasure of welcoming our very first residents to The Northside at Eastridge, and it has been exciting to see the building come to life. What was once a construction site is now filled with neighbours meeting one another, balconies being decorated, moving trucks coming and going, and residents beginning the next chapter of their lives.
One of the things we are most proud of is creating more than just apartments—we are creating a community.
Our outdoor community gardens are nearly complete, and we are thrilled to see every raised garden plot already planted with vegetables, herbs, flowers, and other personal touches from our residents. It’s wonderful to watch everyone make the space their own while connecting with neighbours who share a love of gardening.
Just steps away, our new potting shed is officially open and stocked with gardening tools, supplies, lawn games, and a community library for residents to borrow and enjoy. Whether you’re planting tomatoes, challenging a neighbour to a game of cornhole, or picking up your next summer read, we hope this space becomes a place where friendships continue to grow.
We’re also excited to announce that the outdoor shuffleboard court is complete and ready for friendly competition, while our BBQ area is now open and waiting to host summer dinners with family, friends, and neighbours. These shared spaces were thoughtfully designed to encourage residents to spend time outdoors, connect with one another, and enjoy everything that makes summer in Walkerton so special.
One of our favourite parts of The Northside is how naturally it connects with our existing Valleyview community. Residents of both buildings share amenities and outdoor spaces, creating one larger neighbourhood where new friendships can form across both communities. Seeing residents introduce themselves, attend events together, and make use of these shared spaces is exactly what we envisioned from the very beginning.
As we continue welcoming new residents throughout the summer, it is incredibly satisfying to see this vision become a reality. Every move-in brings new energy, new stories, and another opportunity to build the welcoming community we set out to create.
